Linux System & Security Engineer (f/m/x)

Your tasks
  • You ensure that our Debian based Linux system is a reliable and secure foundation for our robots
  • You review and actively improve the IT security of the robots, their network connections and IT processes around developing our robots
  • Together with the robotics teams, you monitor the resource consumption of all processes and negotiate limits to ensure the smooth operation of all parts of the system
  • You enjoy digging deep into problems and finding sustainable solutions – no matter if they are related to hardware drivers, kernel modules, network setups, or system resources
  • You support us cracking the hard nuts - from full disk encryption for autonomous robots, supporting migrations to newer operating system versions, automated testing on OS level to analyzing performance issues within our framework
Requirements
  • You have successfully completed your Bachelor's or Master's degree in Computer Science or similar education
  • You bring extensive experience with Linux
  • You have experience with programming languages such as Python, C or C++
  • You feel comfortable dealing with:
    • Kernel
    • File systems
    • Systemd
    • The networking stack
    • Public-key Cryptography
  • You have excellent problem-solving skills
  • Ideally, you have experience with ROS 
  • You are proficient in English, some German knowledge is a plus
